CLUB CODES OF CONDUCT

Players:

• Play for your own enjoyment, not to please others.

• Control your temper. Fighting and mouthing off spoils the game for everyone.

• Co-operate with your teammates and opponents. Without them you don't have
a game.

• Try your best. Your team's performance as well as your own will improve.

• Winning is only part of the game. Having fun, making friends, improving your skills and doing your best are most important.

• Acknowledge good plays to your teammates and your opponents.

• Remember that coaches and officials are there to help you. Co-operate with them, play by the rules and be courteous.

Parents:

• Remember that children play for their enjoyment, not yours.

• Encourage your child to play by the rules of the game and by the fair play code.

• Show your appreciation to our volunteers, coaches and officials.

• Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake.

• Turn defeat into victory. Emphasize the value of an honest effort and fair play.

• As spectators, applaud good plays by both teams.

• Actions speak louder than words. Make sure your behavior sets an example.

• Support all efforts to remove violence from all sports.

As to Referees:

• F.I.F.A. rules apply to each Club game unless the Club has established a different rule or regulation for the particular situation. In the latter situation the Club rule or regulation will apply.

• The referee is the person who is in charge of the game.

• The referee is the only person who can cancel a game at the field whether due to lightning / thunder, poor visibility or any other usafe playing condition.

• The referee's decision is final and is not subject to debate or appeal. This is the most basic rule of any sport. Players, coaches and spectators must accept this principle.

• HELP US KEEP OUR REFEREES! A referee is under enough pressure as it is without added unnecessary abuse from players, coaches and spectators. We cannot afford to have referees driven away from the game. Verbal harassment, intimidation and physical threats towards referees will not be tolerated and there will be serious consequences to anyone who engages in such conduct.

• A referee has the right to abandon a game if a game situation is deemed by the referee to be untenable.

• Like any player, coach or parent, a referee may experience an "off day". If you believe that a referee needs additional training, instruction or encouragement, you should contact, as the case may be, either a full field or mini field Refereeing Director to discuss your concerns so that the appropriate action can be taken by the Club.

• If a referee does not appear for a game, that game's coaches must mutually decide on a substitute referee or referees for the game in question (Cliff Marshall Memorial Tournament games excluded). In the event that both coaches cannot agree on a substitute referee, both teams will be required to provide a referee for one half of the game each. The game must be played and will not be rescheduled.

• If a referee (as opposed to assistant referees) does not appear for a game, immediately after the game the coaches of the game in question must advise, as the case may be, either a full field or mini field Refereeing Director of the non-attendance of the referee so that the non-attendance of the referee can be investigated and the appropriate action taken.
