Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer is currently looking for volunteers or interns to assist with several areas of its new TFC Academy.

Academy Intern Athletic Trainer / Physiotherapist
HOURS REQUIRED: 8 hrs/week
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Provide ad-hoc assistance in medical situations to coaches and players
-
Design an “SAQ” program and monitor player performance & fitness with CHC
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
-
Enrolled in or graduated from a recognized college or university level Physiotherapist program or similar
-
Sports focused first aid training
-
Previous competitive sports team experience
-
Must be able to work in a team environment
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Ability to participate a few nights & weekend day per week
These positions come with equipment provided and a club honorarium award at the end of the term plus a written recommendation from the club executive for those students completing their tenure.

Team Managers
HOURS REQUIRED: 8 hrs/week
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administer all Academy accounting, record keeping & event scheduling

Dissemination of information to parents and players in a timely manner
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Previous competitive sports team management experience

Must be able to work in a team environment

Ability to handle people and personalities

Ability to participate a few nights & weekend day per week

Academy Team Head Coach
Ages groups:
Under 9-U11 Boys – Elite and Premier
Under 9-U11 Girls – Elite and Premier
Under 11-U13 Boys - Elite and Premier
Under 11-U13 Girls - Elite and Premier
The TFC Academy at MHYSC identifies young talent throughout the club and district with the aid of TFC Regional coaches and club coaches while providing high level training and competition in preparation for the Toronto based TFC Academy and OSA Provincial Program.
Job Description:
-
To coach an academy team incorporating the Toronto FC and MHYSC coaching curriculum and adhering to the clubs player development plan.
-
To identify player talent throughout the MHYSC Academy on an ongoing basis.
-
To participate in TFC’s special coaching sessions.
-
Reporting to: MHYSC Club Head Coach
Requirements:
-
Minimum OSA Senior Level, (Pre B or higher preferred)
-
Coaching experience with competitive youth, preferably with the applicable age group(s).
-
Good teaching, leadership, organization and communication skills
-
Self starter requiring a minimum of supervision
Term:
-
Approximately 4-5hours per week - November, 2011 - March 2012 plus additional scouting and paperwork as required.
-
This is a volunteer position offering an excellent opportunity to learn from national level and TFC coaches plus work with peer coaches, aspiring to improve their coaching resume.
